Gary Joe Mulkey, 58, of Bruce, MS, departed from this life on Wednesday, March 08, 2023, at his home in Bruce, MS. He was born on June 17, 1964, in Bruce to Jimmy Neil Mulkey and Annie Melton Mulkey.
Joe spent many seasons of his life as a logger for Harrison Logging. Joe loved his country and state by serving for a number of years in the Mississippi Army National Guard. In his spare time, he could be found at the lake fishing or grabbling. Joe was a member of H&H Hunting Club, he enjoyed hunting. He was very dependable and loyal and proved that by being a hard worker. Joe loved spending time with his family and he loved spoiling his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed working with his cattle. Although Joe has departed from our lives, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of his friends and loved ones.
Joe leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: mother, Annie Mulkey of Bruce; three brothers: Billy Dean (Patty) of Asheboro, NC; Sean (Sherry) Mulkey of Vardaman; Andy (Shone) Mulkey of Calhoun City; three sisters: Pricilla (Dean) Murrah of Southaven; Rita (Terry) Allen of Marshall, TX; Sandy (Jeff) Ferguson of Bruce, MS. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Neil Mulkey; three brothers: Tony Mulkey, Larry Gene Mulkey, and Charles Larry Mulkey; sister, Betty Gann; nephew, Eric Cooper.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. The funeral service celebrating Joe's life will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Hailey officiating. James Baker, Robert Earl Barnett, Everette Crofford, Carl Havens, Pate Hubbard, and Joey Winter will carry Joe to rest in Antioch Cemetery. Carter Allen, Grant Crofford, Kipper Hailey, Blake Hogan, and John Henry Liles will serve as honorary pallbearers.
