Geneva Brassfield Galloway, 75, went to her eternal home on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Baptist Nursing Home in Calhoun City to rest in peace. She was born July 18, 1945, in the Ellard Community to the late T. J. Brassfield and Florence Harris Brassfield.
Geneva was a member of Baileyville Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving the Lord. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and spending time with her family most especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved sitting on the porch enjoying the beauty of nature and watching her roses bloom. Her favorite thing was to cook meals for her family to enjoy, the fellowship found around the table, and hearing stories that her children and grandchildren would tell.
Those left to honor Geneva’s memory are: her daughters Gloria (John) Odum, Calhoun City, MS; Vickie Chandler, Calhoun City, MS; and Brenda (James) Tallent, Vardaman, MS; son Robert (Laura) Gulledge, Calhoun City, MS; stepdaughter Amy (Jerry) Buford, Tupelo, MS; stepsons Lynn (Deb) Galloway, Amory, MS; Ben Galloway, Vardaman, MS; and Andy Galloway, Houston, TX; sister Ann (Larry) Tidwell, Taylor, MS; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents T. J. and Florence Brassfield; her husband Howard Monroe Galloway; brothers Bill Brassfield, John Earl Brassfield, and James Brassfield; sister Dot Wells; grandson Dustin Wilburn; stepdaughter Lisa Galloway; and a stepson David Galloway.
Visitation will be Monday, March 8, 2021, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Geneva’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 4:00 PM at the funeral home chapel in Bruce with Bro. Johnny Davidson and Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Oak Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robbie Goodwin, Jacob Gulledge, Josh Ferguson, Brandon Johnson, Jessie Lindsay, Gary Moore, Josh Monaghan, and Larry Tidwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Galloway, Sean Galloway, John Odum, James Tallent, Derek Vanlandingham and Rickey Vanlandingham.
