Geraldine Massey Clark, 80 of Bruce passed from this life on April 12, 2020, at her home in the Mt. Moriah community. Born on December 30, 1939, in Bruce, Geraldine was a daughter to the late Forrest Winnon Massey and Corrine Bratton Massey.

Geraldine was a one of kind woman she, like the rest of her generation knew the value of hard work in every aspect of life. After graduating from Bruce High School, Geraldine attended Jeffie Liles Beauty School to learn the trade of cosmetology where she obtained the skill to open her own salon. Geraldine also found employment with the United States Postal Service as a rural route mail carrier after retiring with 25 years of service. A celebrated master gardener, Geraldine spent many hours volunteering to beautify her community and expanding her already vast knowledge of plants. She was an active member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was the church treasurer. Geraldine didn’t simply pass away, she held in her soul the cure to death, a relationship with Jesus.

Geraldine is survived by a loving family that will carry her precious memory in their hearts; husband, Billy Van Clark; two sons: Winnon (Staci) Clark of Bruce, and Chad (Jennifer) Clark of Bruce; two daughters, Sherry (David) Brower of Bruce, and Connie Mulkey of Bruce; eight grandchildren: Chase (Lizzie) Clark, Summer (Austin) Williams, Cody Brower, Cade Clark, Colton (Logan) Brower, Cole Clark, Leah Clark, and Callie Clark; three great grandchildren: Henley Caroline Williams, Katherine Faye Brower, and Daniel Warren Clark .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest Winnon Massey and Corrine Bratton Massey; three sisters: Charlene Anfinson, Helen Anderson, and Betty Moorehead.

A graveside service remembering Geraldine’s life will take place on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, beginning at 2:00 P.M. in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Bro. Joey Hamilton and Bro. Kevin Chrestman will officiate the service. Cade Clark, Chase Clark, Cole Clark, Cody Brower, Colton Brower, and Austin Williams will serve as pallbearers. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce and Vardaman is honored to serve the family in planning the remembrance of Geraldine’s life. Online condolences may be composed at parkermemorialfuneralhomes.com.

The staff and Parker Memorial Funeral Home prioritize the health and well-being of our associates, family and guests.  We understand this is a fluid and serious situation that we are in today and that we are monitoring and evaluating developments of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

We and the state still believe that gathering and supporting one another at a time of loss is very important.  At this time, we are asking everyone to support a limited gathering and visitation policy.   This is a guideline of the CDC and the state board of health. We will be allowing small family groups and limited persons at visitation, funerals and gravesides until this crisis is over.

We do ask that those at risk or those not feeling well stay at home, but reach out to the family via the memorial webpage on www.parkermemorialfuneralhomes.com .  Also we are listing family addresses where you may reach out to them and send them a card or a note of encouragement in their time of loss.  Flowers and expressions of sympathy are still being accepted.

We also ask those who are attending visitation and funeral services to follow the CDC recommendations to take the usual steps to help prevent the spread of illness. Social distancing is very important in the control of the spread of this virus.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this time we are in with the (COVID-19).  When this crisis is over we will resume our normal procedures and operation.

Prayers are with all of you, we trust that God will protect and strengthen us as we get through this crisis together.  “Faith does not mean trusting God to stop the storm, but trusting Him to strengthen us as we walk through the storm”.
