Harvis Gene Langford, 87, passed away on April 6, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Calhoun in Calhoun City, MS.
Gene was born on June 12, 1936, in Derma, MS to the late Sherman Alford Langford and Eula Mae Vanlandingham Langford.
He spent many years as a copartner of Langford and Sons Contractors working as a carpenter. He loved going to the mountains. He enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting and camping. He attended New Providence Baptist Church. Most importantly his loved his family and time spent with them.
Gene is survived by his wife Norma Sue Langford, of Calhoun City, MS; son Tony (Mary) Langford, of Vardaman, MS; daughter Deborah (Bill) Bailey, of Calhoun City, MS; grandchildren: Cory Bailey, of Starkville, MS; Tanner (Meri Logan) Bailey, of Tuscaloosa, AL; Chris (Amanda) Langford, of Woodland, TX; and Robyn (Jason) Gore, of Vardaman, MS; and five great-children including twin girls coming in July.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sherman and Eula Mae Langford; his sister Quinnette Hardin, and brothers Travis Langford and Pop Langford.
Visitation for Gene Langford will be Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service will be Monday, April 8, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral in Bruce with Bro. Thomas Galloway and Bro. Jimmy Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Springs Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Cory Bailey, Tanner Bailey, Madden Ferguson, Jason Gore, Benny Langford, Chris Langford, Kenny Langford, Sam Langford, and Bryan Allen Long.
