Helen Corrine Vanlandingham, 78, of Bruce passed from this life on Tuesday, February 08, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Calhoun City. Born in summer heat on June 08, 1943, she was a daughter to the late Frank Blackwelder and Ora Lee Turner Blackwelder.
Helen, a graduate of Bruce High School, was lifelong native of the community. She was married to her late husband, Richard Earl Vanlandingham, for an expansive fifty-three years until his passing in February of 2018. Helen spent many seasons of her life as an employee of Brookwood furniture. After retiring she found the time to practice her hobbies fulltime. Aside from following the love stories of Hallmark Movies, Helen was an avid getting lost in the plot of good book. Above all her interest, she dearly loved her grandchildren so much they held a special place in her heart. Helen did not simply pass away. She held the cure to death in her soul, with an active relationship with her Lord whom she worshiped with her church family at Antioch Baptist Church. Although she has departed from our presence, she has gone to rest in a place free sickness and the pains of age.
She leaves behind a close-knit family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; one son, Charlie Vanlandingham of Bruce; four grandchildren: Savannah Vandlandingham of Bruce; Dakota Vanlandingham of Bruce; Kristen Vanlandingham of Bruce; Kennedy Story of Water Valley; one brother, Larry (Kathy) Blackwelder of Bruce; two sisters; Glenda Fay Godfrey of Texas; Jenelle Stewart of Minden, Louisiana.
Those loved ones that entered into rest before Helen include; parents, Frank Blackwelder and Ora Lee Turner Blackwelder; husband, Richard Vanlandingham; daughter, Chrsiti Story; brother, Ham Blackwelder; four sisters: Jackie Countiss, Frankie Haire, Jimmy Denely, and Mary Lou Logan.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service celebrating Helen's life will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Lowe officiating.
