Hilda Vance Webb

Hilda Vance Webb, 82, passed away peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Calhoun City, MS on February 1, 2025.  Hilda was born on December 13, 1942, in Bruce, MS, to the late Elon Smith Vance and Annie Ree Brown Vance.

Hilda was a graduate of Bruce High School. She devoted 44 years to the Bruce Telephone Company, where she served as Chief Financial Officer, playing a vital role in the industry and earning the respect of her colleagues. She was also a member of Bruce United Methodist Church.  When not at work Hilda spent time reading and putting together puzzles.  She also loved to crochet and made many afghans for babies, cancer patients and her own family.

Hilda is survived by her loving spouse, Jimmy Bryan Webb; her daughter Suzy Webb Miller, of Selmer, TN; and her cherished grandchildren: Nolan Bryan Webb, Nicholas Joe Webb, Willie (Lindsey) Tapp, and Jimi Tapp; and 6 great grandchildren.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents Elon and Annie Brown; son Joseph Bryan Webb; brother Doyle Scott (Butch) Vance; and sister Linda Grace Vance Wilson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home, with Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Burial will follow in Bruce Cemetery with Mack Burnett, Steve King, Willie Tapp, Jay Vanlandingham, Nicholas Webb, and Larry Winters serving as pallbearers.
