Huey Delaine Patterson

Huey Delaine Patterson, 86, of Houlka died suddenly at home his home on November 6, 2021.

He was born on November 5, 1935, in Calhoun County to his late parents Emmett Mitchell Patterson and Robenia Pinion Patterson.

He was a self-employed businessman. He was previously owner of Patterson’s Grocery, a bulldozer operator, and a farmer. He attended Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. When he was not working Huey loved gardening, cutting grass, and tinkering with his many projects.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Robenia Patterson; a son Howard Kim Patterson; brothers: Pat Patterson and Elaine Patterson; sisters: Malvalene Griffin and Monette Griffin.

Huey is survived by his wife of 67 years Olene Ward Patterson, of Houlka; son Michael D. (Kelly) Patterson, of Southaven, MS; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Brian) Levensen, Pleasant View, TN, and Erin Patterson, Memphis, TN; great grandchildren: Anna, Gavin, Holly, and Haley.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 7, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service will be Monday, November 8, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with Bro. Gerald Finley and Bro. Wayne Ward officiating. Burial will be at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Jimmy Dale Adams, Gavin Collins, Robert Finley, Dean Patterson, Paul Patterson, Jack Ward, and John Ward.
