Ida Belle Morgan

Ida Belle Morgan, 100, passed away at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo on March 4, 2026. She was born June 3, 1925, in the Mount Tabor Community. Ida married Howard R. Morgan on June 29, 1946. They were married for 61 years, until his death on July 28, 2007.

Ida was a devoted member of Parker Baptist Church since 1946. She loved her pastor, Bro. Kevin Smith, who ministered to her at Sanctuary Hospice House during her final days. She taught Sunday School at Parker Baptist Church for many years. Ida loved the Bible, and would daily journal her prayers. She kept scrap books by cutting articles out of the newspaper, creating individual pages for many people in the community as well as for preachers in the county. Home was her happy place, and she loved to cook. Her grandchildren will always remember her homemade tea cakes and chocolate icing, along with a whole feast of other items. She was the rock of her family, and she will be dearly missed.

Ida is survived by her sons, Stephen (Bonnie) Morgan, Bruce, and Dale Morgan, Bruce. Grandchildren, Josh (Christy) Morgan, Susan (Jeff) Patton, Lee (Jo Ann) Burnett, Michael (Kris) Cavnor. Several grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Brothers, John (Betty) Stone, Sierra Vista, AZ; James (Gail) Stone, Calhoun City; Sisters, Dorothy Taylor, Calhoun City; Jimmie Nell Burnum, Carrollton, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Morgan, her parents, John Madison Stone and Mae Belle Nix Stone, her step-mother, Leavy Terry Stone, and her brother, H.B. Stone.

Services will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Smith officiating. Visitation is 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with the funeral to follow at 11:00 AM.

She will be laid to rest in Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, MS. Pallbearers will be Josh Morgan, Jeff Patton, Noah Morgan, Caleb Morgan, Elijah Morgan, John Morgan Patton, Michael Cavnor and Rob Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Burnett, Rick Morgan, Bill Morgan, Danny Taylor, Mike McKibben, Gene Redwine, and Jerry Dunn.
