Jackie Lynn Callahand, age 82, of Paris, MS, passed away at his home on May 27, 2026. He was born on April 13, 1944, in Lafayette County, Mississippi. He dedicated his life to working as a self-employed logger and in rental property management.
Jackie was a member of the Paris Fellowship Methodist Church in Paris, MS, where he found joy and camaraderie among his fellow congregants. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished the moments spent hunting deer, duck, dove, and rabbit, as well as his unique passion for grabbling. His adventurous spirit led him to the mountains for sightseeing and to the majestic Redwood Forests in California, where he marveled at the towering trees. In addition to his love for nature, Jackie had a keen interest in antiques.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Laura June Dickey Gean Callahand of Paris, MS; his son, Rory Lynn Callahand of Paris, MS; and his sister, Olean Callahand Copple of Warren, Ohio. Jackie also leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Jacob Tyler Callahand (Alex), Amilyn Brooke Hollis (Jonathan), and Gracey Lynn Callahand; along with his great-grandchildren: Jacob Tristan Callahand, Kyler Grace Hollis, Brinley Jo Hollis, and Avery Elaine Hollis, all of whom are of Paris, MS.
A graveside service will be held in Jackie's honor on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Sammy Gossett officiating. The service will be held at the Callahand Family Cemetery located at 373 County Road 424 Water Valley, MS, where family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life and share cherished memories.
Jackie Lynn Callahand will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the cherished memories they hold dear.
Jackie was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Leonard Callahand; mother, Addie Mae Blaker Callahand; sister, Betty Elizabeth Callahand; and brothers, Mike Callahand and Robert Callahand.
