James Edwin Blount

James Blount, 91 of Ridgeland, Mississippi died on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Chateau in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
Born Monday, July 20, 1925 in Pine Valley Mississippi, he was the son of the late Joseph Blount and the late Eva Lillian
Ferrell Blount. He was the husband of Mary (Bibbie) Gary Blount of Clinton, MS. and the late Annette Mosuk Blount wife of
59 years.
He was retired from United States Department of Labor.
He served as a PFC in the Army from 1944 until 1945. He was a Veteran of World War II a Bronze Star and Purple Heart
recipient .
Surviving are son, Jerry W. Blount (Charlene) of Jacksonville, FL, sister, Eva Penick of Vardaman, MS; grand children; Valerie
Blount, Jered Blount, and Cheryl Nunez, 2 great grand children, step children; Christi Stewart, and Suzanne McCoy, 6 step
grand children, 1 Step Great Grand child.
Preceded in death by sisters; Dot Funderburk, Mary Walker, Betty Blount, and Patsy June Blount.
A Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday at Hillcrest Cemetery. with Rev. Allen Hall officiating Interment will be in
Hillcrest Cemetery, Vardaman, MS.
