James "Jim" Carey Miller

James “Jim” C. Miller of Pittsboro, MS passed from his earthly home to his eternal home on Friday, August 30th at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Oxford, MS.  He was born in Obion County, Tennessee on March 14, 1946 to W. E Miller and Bernice Mitchel.

Jim retired after fifty-five years as a dedicated, loyal truck driver from Burkhalter Transport in Columbus, MS.  During his tenure as a truck driver he worked for Andy White, Parker Brothers, Dwight Ferrell Concrete, Jeff Sullivan and Barefield and Sons.

While serving his Lord and Savior, Jim worshipped at Rocky Mount Baptist Church.

Jim leaves behind his precious family members, wife, Linda Logan Miller of Pittsboro, MS; two sons, Chris Miller, Jackson, TN; Jody (Angie) Miller, Martin, TN; one daughter, Paula (Eddie) Mounce of Oxford, MS; brother, John (Glenda) Miller, Somerville, TN; four grandchildren; J. C. Miller Ryan Mounce, Abby Mounce, and Jaden Miller. one great grandchild,.Ryder Miller.      He was preceded in death by one brother, Joey Miller.

A funeral service honoring Jim will be held Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Parker Memorial Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Causey and Bro. Sam Yarbrough officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024  from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce, MS.   Internment will follow at Memory Memorial Garden in Bruce, MS.   Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Barefield, Dwight Ferrell, Jeff Miller, Ryan Mounce, Dalton Russell, and Jeff Sullivan.   Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Ferrell, Forest Fleming, Rocky Fleming, Wiley Fleming, Will Fleming, and Robert Tedford.
