James Franklin Gulledge, Sr., 80, of Pittsboro, Mississippi passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Yalobusha Nursing Home in Water Valley, Mississippi.
He was born Monday, December 21, 1936 in Big Creek, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Walter Gulledge and the late Ora Cantrell Gulledge.
He was a member of Pittsboro First Baptist Church a past member of Pittsboro Volunteer Fire Department. James loved spending time with his family, gardening, eating catfish and collecting dimes.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Sadie McInnis Gulledge, Pittsboro, MS; two sons, James Franklin "Melanie" Gulledge, Jr. of Madison, MS, and Christopher "Gracie" Gulledge, Sr. of Batesville, MS; a daughter, Rachel Suzanne Ingle of Calhoun City, MS; a brother, Robert Earl "Bobby" Gulledge, Sr. of Calhoun City, MS; six grandchildren, Stephanie Paige Ingle, Kristen Grace Gulledge, Christopher Joseph Gulledge, Jr. Jameson Noah Gulledge, Nicholas Cale Ingle and Johnathan Abram Bryant Gulledge.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Alvin Ray Gulledge and George Arnold Gulledge and two sisters, Louise Ritchie and Jessie Mae Reedy.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Interment will be in Pittsboro Cemetery, Pittsboro, MS. Pallbearers are Landon Adams, Chris Gulledge, Jr., Steve Ingle and Jessie Lindsay, Frank Villegas.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476 hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
