James Ladell Listenbee

James Ladell Listenbee, 64, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 13, 2024.  He was born in Bruce to the late parents of Little Tom Listenbee and Della Frances Tutor Listenbee.

Ladell was a graduate of Bruce High School class of 1979.  He was a graduate of University of Mississippi majoring in education.  He taught school at Bruce Elementary, Grenada School and South Panola School system. After teaching for a number of years Ladell explored the country by being a cross country trucker. He also worked the past years with Ashley Furniture of Ecru. Ladell loved the outdoors while riding his bicycle and his motorcycle.  His favorite thing was going the place of solitude and enjoying nature and his timberland. He was a believer of Christ and attended Bruce First Baptist Church and Bruce United Methodist Church in years past.

Ladell was preceded in death by his parents, Little Tom Listenbee and Della Frances Listenbee and a brother Jerry T. Listenbee.

He is survived by his fiancé; Robbie Taylor Buchanan, Grenada, daughters, Kayla (Jason) Jenkins, Saltillo and Christy (Michael Filippi) Listenbee, Atlanta, GA; fiancé daughter, Taylor Buchanan, Grenada; fiancé son, Blake (Victoria) Buchanan, Grenada; grandchildren, Mika Ward, Layla Ward and Ella Filippi, fiancé grandchild, Easton Buchanan.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 12:00P.M. until service time at 1:00P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dog Lovers League of Bruce, 135 Easley Ave. Bruce, MS 38915. In memory of Ladell.
