James Brooks Rogers, Jr

James Brooks Rogers, Jr., 61 of Pittsboro, Mississippi died on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Calhoun Health
Services Hospital in Calhoun City, Mississippi.
Born Friday, June 4, 1954, he was the son of the late James Rogers and Flo Gregory Rogers. He was the husband of Jennifer Green Rogers.
He served on the Calhoun County Board Of Supervisors representing District 2. James took his job & commitment to serving the people of this county very seriously.
He was a very devoted member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church where he was the cemetery manager and Sunday School superintendent. Community minded he was a member of Chickenbone Volunteer Fire Department, he also was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son.
Surviving are daughters, Lori Woodard and husband Derek of Olive Branch, MS and Jesi McCormick and husband Jim of Fremont, NE, sister, Carolyn Marie Collins of Bruce, MS; grand children, Jodie Rogers, Jaslyn Langford, and Liam McCormick, Niece, Amanda Vanlandinham and husband Jay along with their children Dani and Trey, special family friend, Lori Bryant Edmondson.
He was predeceased by son, Jason Rogers.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Rhinehart officiating with Bro. Larry Haggard and Bro. Pete Gregory Assisting. Interment will be in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Pittsboro, MS.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476 hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be: Toby Edmondson, David Green, Homer Moore, Jimmy Ray Moore, Willie Moore, Tony Morgan, Richard Morgan, and Barney Wade.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chicken Bone Fire Department, Sonny Clanton, Earnest Fox, and Gwin Longest.
