James "Larry" Smallwood, 80, of Horn Lake, Mississippi, passed away at Harbor View Post Acute in Memphis, TN, on February 13, 2026. Larry was born on May 27, 1945, in Bruce, MS.

Larry was a loving father and a proud grandpa. He loved working in his shop, making birdhouses and woodwork items. He enjoyed going to the local festivals to sell his work. He also loved going to tractor pulls and restoring antique tractors, particularly Farm All tractors. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards with his granddaughters.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Lanell Bowen, and son-in-law, Robby Bowen; his son, Jason Smallwood; granddaughters Kyla and Kinsley Bowen; nephew, Derek Smallwood and his wife Pennie; sister-in-law, Glenda Smallwood; and brother-in-law, Robert " Bob " Ussery.

Larry was preceded in death by his spouse, Gayle Smallwood; parents, LQ and Jeanette Smallwood; brother, Jerry Smallwood; and sister, Dianne Ussery.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476 Hwy 9 North, Bruce, Mississippi 38915. Interment will be at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
