James Jerry Tedford

James Jerry Tedford, 82, of Bruce, departed this life on Friday, January 2, 2026, at his home in Bruce, MS. He was born on December 25, 1943, in Lambert, to the late Arlis Cortez Tedford and Opalean Elizabeth Williams Tedford.

Jerry spent 57 years traveling the highways and byways as a truck driver for R & L Carriers. He truly enjoyed his work and took great pride in his career. When he wasn’t on the road, Jerry enjoyed spending his free time fishing.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Dean Tedford, of Bruce; two sons, Mark (Suzette) Tedford, of Banner, and Jeff (Holly) Tedford, of Oxford; two daughters, Jo Lynn (Rob) Clanton, of Bruce, and Teresa (Mike) Russell, of Fulton; and his grandchildren: Elizabeth Clanton; Jay (Kayla) Clanton; Laken (Bryce) Keylon; Ashlyn Aron; Annaleise (Brennan) Pugh; Wayne Sockwell; Greg (Jennifer) Sockwell; Michael Russell; Heath (Alexis) White; Nicole (Reed) Davis; James (Mikel) Tedford; Matthew McCord; Jarrod Tedford; Victoria McCord; and Jacob Tedford. He also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren to continue walking down the path of life in his absence.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Arlis Cortez and Opalean Elizabeth Tedford, and his brother, Richard “Sonny” Tedford.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service honoring Jerry’s life will take place on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, with Dr. Timothy Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Bruce Cemetery. Brennan Pugh, Greg Sockwell, Wayne Sockwell, Jacob Tedford, James Tedford, and Jarrod Tedford will serve as pallbearers.
