James Earl Weeks

James Earl Weeks, 77, passed away on October 18, 2025, at his home in Bruce, MS. James was born on January 4, 1948, to the late James Ralph Weeks and Bessie Kate Kilgore Weeks.

James was honored to serve his country in the Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a very family-oriented man and provided for his family by using his carpentry skills and as a farmer. James was a member of Derma Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Shriners and the American Legion. He was a 32nd degree Mason and served at Masonic Lodge #174 in Slate Springs and Calhoun City Lodge # 506 where he mentored other young men in the Lodge.

James is survived by his wife Brenda Roane Weeks, bonus daughters Lisa (Buck) Langford, and Ginger (Clint) Dishman, both of Bruce, MS; sisters Beverly Fonte and Patricia Welch of Bruce, MS; brother Ralph Weeks of Slate Springs, MS; brother-in-law Bob Brown, Jr, of Bruce, MS; bonus grandchildren: Jasyln (Cameron) Paschal, Mary Mason Langford, Conley Langford, Landry (Christopher) Roberts, and Easton Dishman; and one great grandchild.

James is preceded in death by his parent James and Bessie Kate Weeks.

A visitation for James will be Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM until service time at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, in Bruce. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home, Bruce with Bro Roger Reeder and Barry Black officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery, in Bruce, MS. Serving as pallbearers are: Barry Black, Carl Wesley Bryant, Charles Diamond, Robert Doolittle, R. M. England, Bobby Hood, Robert Mata, and John Tinley. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Masonic Lodge.
