Janice Stribling Jarrett

Janice Audrey Stribling Jarrett is in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ today. Though her body was frail and tired, her spirit was grateful for every day she spent with her family until she passed into eternity on August 28, 2021, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Janice was born April 6, 1937, in Bruce, Mississippi to H. T. and Leola Stribling.

She married the man of her dreams, Rex Jarrett, on August 30, 1958, and lived happily ever after all the days of her life. They worshiped each other and spent 63 years adoring each other every minute they spent together.  The couple worked side by side for many years in their businesses, The Cavalier and Debonaire Shoppes. Their union brought two daughters into the world, Rhonda Jarrett and Sylvia Caples,  grandchildren Paul Brown (Ryannne), Janna Brown, Mary Chosen Caples, and Katie Caples, and great grandchildren Stetson Brown and Kamp Brown. Her happiest moments of life were the ones she spent with her family.

Some of the best years of her life were spent socializing with their favorite church couples sharing friendship and fun. Whether in the swimming pool when the children were young, an Ole Miss basketball game, or a late night game of Rook with friends, she enjoyed her life and those around her.

Janice was a loyal member of First Baptist Church of Bruce. She loved her church and her church family. For many years she taught Sunday classes and sang in the church choir. She studied the Bible and followed those teachings in her daily walk with God.

She is survived by her husband Rex, daughters Rhonda and Sylvia and their families, brothers Roger Stribling and family, and Spiers Stribling. She was preceded in death by her parents H. T. and Leola Stribling, her parents through marriage E. E. and Esther Jarrett, son in law Michael Caples, sister in laws Jean Jarrett Bevil and Walterine Stribling, brother in law Jackie Bevil.

A service to honor Janice will be at Parker Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive condolences Monday, August 30, 2021, from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM. Her service will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at Parker Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Darrell Logan and Bro. Ryan Reed will give reflections on her life and a message of comfort to her family and friends. Janice will be laid to rest in Memory Memorial Garden.
