Jean Vanlandingham Peden Davis

Jean Vanlandingham Peden Davis, 88, passed into sweet eternity on September 23, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Jean graced the Loyd community with her presence on December 16, 1930; she was born to the late James Marvin Vanlandingham and Betty Winters Vanlandingham.

Jean was a precious lady that enjoyed life and what it offered her. Cooking and sewing were just two of her specialties; she really had a knack for collecting trinkets of all varieties and made sure to keep that skill at peak proficiency. She loved the outdoors and especially her flowers and her vegetable garden to share with family and friends.To say Jean wasn’t a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother would insult the very lights of her life. She adored all the members of her family with a never ending devotion. She was the mother and friend that put others first before herself in life.  Jean didn’t just simply pass away, she merely moved into a place called Heaven, which was prepared especially for her by the Lord.

Jean leaves behind Two Sons; Lee (Lori) Peden and Van (Lynette) Peden of Bruce, Mississippi; One Daughter, Tammy (Elvis) Englehardt of Oxford, Mississippi; Two Brothers, Billy Vanlandingham of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Jimmy D. Vanlandingham of Mathiston, Mississippi; One Sister, Martha Tindall of Calhoun City, Mississippi; Grandchildren, Blake (Ashley) Peden, Broc Peden, Jenabeth Peden, Chrissy Brassfield, Corey Brassfield, Codey Brassfield, Casey (Nicole) Brassfield, Kimberly (Jarad) Britt, Anna (Robert) Hughes and Amanda Tutor;15 Great Grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, James Marvin Vanlandingham and Betty Winters Vanlandingham; Husbands, Kenneth Davis and Stanley Peden; One daughter, Jane Peden; Four Brothers, Bobby Vanlandingham, Odie B Vanlandingham, Oren Vanlandingham, and Ottis Vanlandingham; One Sister, Dorothy Inez Vanlandingham

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. A graveside service remembering Jean’s life will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2:00 P.M  at Memory Memorial Garden in Bruce, with Bro. David Haggerty officiating. Cody Brassfield, Corey Brassfield, Jared Britt, Elvis Englehardt, Blake Peden, and Broc Peden will serve as pallbearers.
