Jerrell Dean Fleming, 85, of Vardaman, departed from this life on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. He was born on December 26, 1937 in Vardaman to the late Joe Lee Fleming and Dede Alexander Fleming.
Jerrell's journey began as he bravely served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the principles he held dear. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career at Layne and Bowler Company as a Accountant, where he dedicated 35 years of his life. After retiring Jerrell went to work for Parks and Parks Water Well Services. He loved his children and his family. He loved space, weather, and airplanes. Jerrell was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
Jerrell is survived by his daughters Sheila Turpin and Bill of Collierville, TN, and Rita Ricks of Franklin, TN; his sister: Sue Jean Langley of Houston; his grandchildren: Emily Evans, Luke Turpin & Adison, Nick Turpin & Allyssa, Christy Bell & Zach, and Brad Ricks; his great-grandchildren: Jack, Emma, Ava, and Levi Evans; James Turpin; Chase and Waylon Turpin; Alyssa and Audrey Bell; and Lilly Ricks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lee Fleming and Dede Alexander Fleming; spouse, Virginia Ann Fleming; sister, Betty Jo McGee; brother, James Ray Fleming.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman. The service honoring Jerrell's life will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander and Dr. Randy Rinehart officiating. Jack Evans, Bill Turpin, Luke Turpin, Nick Turpin, Brad Ricks, and John Ricks will carry Jerrell to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery.
