Jerry Harrison

Jerry Wayne Harrison, 66, passed this life on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at N.M.M.C., Tupelo, MS after a brief illness. He was born June 15, 1951 in Peoria, IL to the late parents of James T. Harrison and Jessie Mae Walton Harrison Smith.

Jerry served our country, serving in the Vietnam War and later during Desert Storm as a First Sargent in the U.S. Marine Corp. and later retiring from The Marine’s. Jerry received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from National University in California. He also retired from Roadway Truck Lines as a truck driver. He was a self- employed businessman having his own stump grinding service. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and sportsman. He was a member of Eastland Baptist Church and attended Pittsboro Baptist Church.

Those left to honor his memory are his devoted wife, Rhonda Byars Harrison, Pittsboro, MS; a daughter, Chelsea Anderson “Vincent”, Pittsboro; two sons, Brandon Harrison, HI and Ryan Killough “Whitney” Pontotoc, MS; four sisters, Barbara Perkins, Batesville, MS, Charlotte Lamb, Oxford, MS. Kathrine Hathcock, SC and Shirley Darby, Batesville, MS; four grandchildren, Dakota Phillips, Covington, TN, Charlie Morgan Harrison, Memphis, TN, Colton Cossey, Pontotoc, MS and Ellie Killough, Pontotoc, MS.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Cobb and Bro. Vincent Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Memorial Garden with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Klint Byars, Wade Byars, Benny Collins, Kevin Darby, Ashley Hathcock, David B. Hathcock, Sean Perkins and Todd Perkins.

Honorary pallbearers are John Ellard, Mark Gassaway, Jerry Irwing, Glen Lenard, Tommy Reid, Gary Schmitz, James Thornburg and Kevin Tunnell.
