Jerry Louis Parker

Calhoun City - Jerry Louis Parker, 65 , passed away at his home Friday, August 25, 2017. He was born November 7, 1951 in Vardaman. Jerry was a graduate of Vardaman High School class of 1970. He was a funeral director, insurance sales representative, former employee of Caviness Woodworking and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. Jerry was a outdoors man who especially loved deer hunting  and following his favorite sports team.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Curtis Ivan Parker and Effie Lorene Lester Parker, a sister; Mary Ruth Keel and two brothers; James Parker and Morris Parker.

Those left to honor him are the mother of his children, Karen Parker, Vardaman, MS, a daughter; Carla Milette Russell "Mitchell", Mantee, MS,  two sons; Jerry Bradford Parker “Mary Ann”, Nesbit, MS and Jon Parker “Melissa”, Pontotoc, MS, three sisters; Vera Nell Smith, Plano, TX, Peggy Jennings, Greenwood, MS and Debbie Wiggs, Calhoun City, MS, four grandchildren; Stephen Parker, John Luke Parker, Zane Crowley and Zoey Crowley, three step-grandchildren; Hunter Russell, Madison Russell and Hannah Russell.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with the funeral being at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with burial to follow at New Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Vance will be officiating the service. Pallbearers will be Ross Cardwell, Jerry Fleming, Stephen Jennings, Stephen Parker, Randy Reynolds, Donnie Smith, Stacy Spratlin and Larry Wiggs. Honorary pallbearers are Cole Gary, Jason Jennings, Charles Lafayette, Bobby Parker and Connor Spratlin.
