Jerry Kraig Smith

Jerry Kraig Smith, 51, passed away on June 7, 2024, at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born on November 27, 1972, in Pontotoc to the late Jerry Ralph Smith and Tilda Jean McCormick Smith.

Kraig was a graduate of Bruce High School and was employed at Winchester.  He was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.  When not at work Kraig could often be found driving his tractor or side by side. He was an early riser which was beneficial for someone who loved deer hunting.  He was also an avid Alabama Football fan.

Kraig is survived by his wife Bridget Lenard Smith, of Bruce, MS; daughters: Kaylyn (Jesse) Hillhouse, of Randolph, MS;  Karlie (Cody) Inman, of Bruce, MS; and Kelsey Hubbard, of Bruce, MS; brother Chris Smith, of Pittsboro, MS; grandchildren: Maddie Claire Hillhouse and Clayton Allen Hillhouse; niece Brylee Jean Smith, of Galveston, TX; father in law Glenn Lenard, of Bruce, MS; mother in law Brenda (Scotty) Box, of Randolph, MS; brother in law Jon Lenard, of Bruce, MS; aunt Marsha (Charlie) Fortner, of Oxford, MS; uncle Tim Earl (Vicki) McCormick, of Bruce, MS; and nephews: Jacob Allen Lenard and Hudson Rhodes Lenard.

Kraig is preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Tilda Smith.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce.

The funeral service for Kraig will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with Bro. James Taylor and Bro. Hal Clark officiating.   Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Jason Dye, Andy Fortner, Jesse Hillhouse, Cody Inman, Jon Lenard, Jeff McGregor, Buddy Nelson, and Chris Smith.  Honorary pallbearers are: Larry Baker, Jr., Bill Buskirk, William "Bubba" Eubanks, Charlie Fortner, Corey Fortner, Cody Golden, Roger Harmon, Marshall Hill, Tony Lee Hubbard, Ollie Judson, Tim Earl McCormick, Randy Wait, and his coworkers at Winchester.
