Jesse Sylvanus Stone ,83, passed from this life on September 5,2019 at Baptist-Calhoun Nursing Home in Calhoun City. He was born on December 16,1935 to the late Cecil Clifton and Edna Ruth Browning Stone in the Hardy Community.
Jesse entered the United States Marine Corps at a young age and spent numerous years protecting the citizens of this great nation we live in. After his military career, Jesse farmed and drove a tractor to support his family for an expansive number of years. Upon retirement, Jesse spent his spare time camping, adventuring off on a hunt for squirrels and rabbits ,and singing an old country tune. Jesse loved the Lord and accepted his gift of eternal salvation, and served as a member of Grace Fellowship Church.
Jesse is survived by his precious wife Bernice Fisk; Five sons, Jesse Rufus (Anita) Stone, Roger William (Becky) Stone, Norman Dennis (Teresa)Stone, Cecil Clifton (Jessica) Stone, and Wilie Darrin Stone; Three sisters, June Davidson, Hazel Hoover, and Mary Lucy Schneider; Eleven Grandchildren, Roger Stone Jr., Alan Stone II, Jessica (Phillip) Watts, Matthew (Misty) Stone, Shannon Stone, Savanna (Zack) Stone, Hunter Stone, Alan Stone III, Adriannah Hughes, Braylee Stone, and David Wyatt Stone; Six Great Grandchildren and a special brother-in-law, Russell Melton..
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents Cecil Clifton and Edna Ruth Browning Stone; One Son, Alan Stone; One Grandchild, Katelin Elizabeth Grace Stone; Three Brothers, Junior Stone, William Stone, and Bud Stone; Three sisters, Sis Bingham, Thelma Fife, and Laura Jean Harrell.
The family will receive friends on September 8, 2019 from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Grace Fellowship Church in Calhoun City. In addition, to the visitation a funeral service will be held remembering Jesse’s life will also take place on September 8, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. Dr. John Warren and Bro. Roger Redder will officiate the service; with burial following the service at Mt.Comfort Cemetery . Pallbearers will be Allen Fisk, Bryce Fleming, Larry Wayne Galloway, Haylon Hamilton, Daniel Olive, Jeffrey Oliver, Jeremy Oliver and Kenny Oliver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jesse’s Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
