Jim "Ike" Denton, 91, of Houlka, departed from this life on Sunday, October 01, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on June 15, 1932, in Arkansas to the late John William Denton and Ethel Denton.
He served his country by serving in the United States Air Force. Ike retired from the Air Force in 1993 after 20 years of service. He enjoyed listening to gospel singing and looking at the computer. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his son, Donald (Karen) Logan of Semmes, AL; daughter, Angie (Dale) Minor of Houlka; granddaughter, Lisa (Tom) Logan; two grandsons: Bradley Gentry and Isaac Cleamons; stepson, Billy Joel Collums, Jr. of Houlka; five stepdaughters: Judy Paden of Houlka; Donna Jo (Cliff) Jarvis of Houlka; Lynn Bryant of Houlka; Lisa (Patrick) Linton of Verona; and Tina (Tony) Pullen of Houlka; He also leaves behind 15 step grandchildren and 23 step great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his spouse, Maxine Gann Collums Denton; parents, John William Denton and Ethel Denton; first wife, Carnell Massey.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 05, 2023, in Rocky Mt. Cemetery at 3:00 P.M. with Bro. Danny Kelley officiating.
