Jimmy Cole

Grenada, MS-James Upton “Jimmy”  Cole, 77, passed away,  Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Laird Hospital, Union, MS.  He was born August 12, 1940 in Calhoun City  to the late parents of Temple Upton Cole and Cora Mae McGayhey Cole of Calhoun City.  Jimmy was a member of Lewis Memorial Methodist Church and the graduating class of CCHS class of 1958.  He served his country and state serving in the Mississippi Army National Guard for over six years.  He attended Mississippi State University and Delta State University before he started working for the U.S. Natural Resources and Conservation Service where he worked for over forty years before retiring.  Jimmy loved the outdoors, hunting and being in nature.

Survivors are his two daughters, Andrea Cole King, Olive Branch, MS and Jennifer Cole Riley “Chris”, Oxford, MS and three grandchildren, Adam King, Emme Riley and Katie Cook Riley.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce and graveside service to follow at 3:00 P.M. at Calhoun City Cemetery with Dr. Gary Roberson officiating.
