Jimmy Lee Melton

Jimmy Lee Melton, 62, of Big Creek passed away on Saturday December 3, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on December 02, 1960 in Memphis, TN to the late Jimmy Lee Melton and Mary Catherine Baker Melton.

Jimmy was a graduate of Messick High School of Memphis. He spent many seasons of life traveling the highways and byways owning his own trucking company L&M Trucking LLC. In his spare time Jimmy could be found hunting or fishing. He was a member of Vardaman Methodist Church. Although Jimmy has departed from our lives, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of his friends and loved ones.

He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: wife, Melanie Melton of Big Creek; two sons: Josh (Chelsea) Melton of Irwinton, GA; Kyle (Tiffany) Skeen of Jonesboro, AR; two daughters: Nikki (Brad) Hefler of New Orleans, LA; Carol Ann Melton of Calhoun City, MS; mother of his children, Dianne Melton of Vardaman, MS; mother of his children, Shelia Manley.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Lee Melton and Mary Catherine Baker Melton; daughter, Katie Marie Skeen; brother, Michael Earl Melton.

A funeral service honoring Lee's life will be held on Tuesday December 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel of Vardaman with Bro. Jimmy Vance officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Atlanta, MS. Terry Dauzat, Brennon Haines, David Holloway, Justin Holloway, Josh Melton, Freddy Person, and Jonathan Tedder will serve as pallbearers. Larry Baker, Eric Bobo, T.J. Dauzat, Michael Melton, and Lee Ripper will serve as honorary pallbearers.
