Jimmy Roe Winter, Sr., 75 of Bruce, Mississippi died on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in
Oxford, Mississippi.
Born Saturday, October 5, 1940 in Bruce, Mississippi, he was the son of the late William Dewell Winter and Willie Pearl
Henderson Winter. He was the husband of Barbara Murphree Winter.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. A retired truck driver with Ark-Ell Springs - Houlka, MS. He served in
the National Guard, was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, An avid Ole Miss Fan. Believed in traditional family
values, loved his family and church family.
Surviving are his wife Barbara Murphree Winter of Bruce, MS. a son, Jimmy Roe and wife Janae Winter, Jr. of Bruce, MS,
sister, Carol and husband James Hardin of Bruce, MS. Sister in law, Brenda Winter of Bruce, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bobby Dewell Winter.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Travis Montgomery and Bro. Will Turner officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Bruce, MS., with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Bond, Jon Ferguson, Sid Haire, Joe Hopkins, Rodney Mann, Greg Owens, Joey Poteete, and Terry Tritsch.
Honorary pallbearers will be D.R. Barefield, Smokey Barefield, Charles Chrestman, Don Countiss, Matelon Ferguson,
Coleman Mann and Lenon White.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home,
476 hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
