Joe Emmitt Tims, 79 of Bruce, Mississippi died on Monday, August 10, 2015, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson,
Mississippi.
Born Monday, July 20, 1936 in Bruce, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Everett Tims and Vesta Leona
Clements Tims. He was the husband of Carole Jean Burnham Tims of Bruce, MS. Married 58 years, January 12,
1957.
He was a loving father and husband. Enjoyed fishing, being outside and being with his family and friends. He took
special pride in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He attended Bruce United Methodist Church, a retired saw mill filer Memphis Hardwood formerly Bruce Co. with forty
two years.
Surviving are son, Scott (Myra) Tims of Grenada, MS, daughters, Karen (Emad) Al Turk of Ridgeland, MS and
Tammy (Kent) Moore of Philadelphia, MS. Six grandchildren; Amanda Dahl, Sarah Ravencraft, Tyler Moore, Olivia
Moore, Tucker Tims, and Trevor Tims, Four great grandchildren: Presley Ravencraft, Harper Ravencraft, Sutton
Dahl, and Hayes Dahl. Brother in law: Bob (Janet) Burnham of Marion, AR.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Lannis
May officiating. Interment will be in Memory Memorial Garden, Bruce, MS.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Parker Memorial
Funeral Home, 476 hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Larry Clements, John Ellard, Joe Farmer, James Hardin, Miles Jeffery, Paul Lowe, and Troy Moore.
Memorials May be made to Bruce United Methodist Church, P.O Box 429, Bruce, MS 38915.
