Coffeeville, MS – John Thomas Hill, 69, passed away December 10, 2018 at his home surrounded by his love ones. He was born January 18, 1949 in Calhoun County to the late parents of Luster Alvin Hill and Ruby Pearl Hill. He was a farmer, diesel mechanic and worked in the Maintenance Department for Yalobusha County for over 17 years. John was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Skuna Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Skuna Deer Hunting Club. He loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting and sharing with others.
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Frances Marie Hill Barefield.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Marie Landreth Hill, Coffeeville; son, Jeremy Trent (ReaDena) Hill, Hernando; daughter, Jennifer Hill (Daniel) Brooks, Grenada; brothers, Gene Hill, Coffeeville, Earl Hill, Rossville, TN, Roy Hill, Hamilton; sisters, Meril Hill Green, Calhoun City, Lucille Potts, Paris, Louise Buchannan, Bruce, Pat Melton, Bruce, Margaret Dye, Calhoun City, Kaye Hill, Bruce, Diane Glover, Perkins, MO; grandchildren, Ashlyn Hill, Laney Hill and Preston Brooks.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, December 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at new hope Baptist Church. Bro. Craig Baker and Bro. Billy Hill will be officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Bennett, Andy Fly, Joe Hill, Jeb Howell, Joe McBride, John Pomerlee, and Ray Schmitz.
