John Benjamin "J.B." Edwards

John Benjamin “J.B.” Edwards, 95, passed away, Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Bruce Community Living Center. He was born May 15, 1923 in Calhoun County to the late parents of George Washington Edwards and Ellie L. Hipp Edwards. J.B. enjoyed helping others, building fences or share cropping to provide for his family. Later in life he worked for the Lafayette county maintenance Department. He was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his late parents, wife, Nellie Lancaster Edwards, sons, Travis Edwards, Johnny Edwards, sisters, Helen Hellums, Lillie Davis, Hollan Quarles, Alice Whitworth, Ila McCord, and Ruby Stewart. Brother, Howard Edwards.

Those left to honor his memory are daughters, Paulette Edwards Barbee (James), Banner, Doris Edwards Logan (Jerry) Banner, Joann Edwards Barfield (Billy) Vardaman. fourteen grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren.

Visitation and funeral services will be Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 p.m. till services time at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Luc Michaud and Bro. Bobby Snow will be officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Barbee, Michael Barbee, B.J. Barfield, Daron Edwards, Dean Edwards, Jason Logan and Justin Logan.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Benjamin Barbee and Chase Goolsby.
