John Floyd Kimbrell, 82 of Pontotoc, Mississippi died on Friday, July 8, 2016, at N.M.M.C. Nursing Home in Pontotoc, MS.
Born May 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Emmett Lee Kimbrell and the late Annie Bay Stone Kimbrell. Preceded in death by a brother Azzie Duran Kimbrell.
He was formerly employed by Washington Furniture Mfg. and the former owner of Kimbrell Insurance Agency.
He was a member of West Heights Baptist Church, a Mason, former Bruce Volunteer Fireman, served his country in The U.S. Navy, instrumental in starting the
Meals on Wheels in his area.
Surviving are his wife Carolyn Long Kimbrell of Pontotoc, MS. son, Tim (Laura Allred) Kimbrell of Pontotoc, MS, daughter,
Judy (Russell) Gray of Nettleton, MS.
Grandchildren, Britni Beasley, Brenan Haynes, Tori Kimbrell, Faith Kimbrell and Grace Kimbrell. Great Grandchildren, Tripp
Beasley, Tanner Beasley and Hayden Lindley.
A Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Bobby Douglas and
Dr. David Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in Bruce Cemetery, Bruce, MS.
Pallbearers will be Andy Calvert, Jim Allen Calvert, Phil Lee, Trent Long, Lamar Prewitt, Jackie Spencer. Honorary Pallbearers
are, Danny Aldridge, Roy Box, Jeff Bryant, Jimmy Carol, Noel Collins, Scott Collins, D.D. Countiss, Matelon Ferguson, Ray
James, Charlie Kimbrell, David Kimbrell, Jack Kimbrell, Wade Kimbrell, Wally Simpson, Billy Jack Stewart, and Steve
Tranum.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476
hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
