John Alvin Wilson, Sr.

John Alvin Wilson, Sr. “Snake Doctor”, 59, departed this life at his home on April 21, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born July 28, 1964 in Pontotoc County to the late parents of Bill Wilson and Mildred Hall Duke.

John was a log truck driver for Jeff Harrison Logging and a avid outdoorsman. His nickname was “Snake Doctor” and when he was not at work he loved sitting by the bonfire with family and friends. He was aa simple man that loved watching his chickens peck and run about the yard. He truly loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Clayton Hall Sr., Farrell Hall, William Buford and Ronnie Dillard, and a sister, Brenda Dillard.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Catherine Hurst Wilson, Banner; daughter, Savannah Wilson, Banner; sons, John Wilson, Jr., Banner, Joshua (Maddy) Wilson, Banner; sister, Carol Orr, Tupelo; grandchildren, Jayden Morris, Caramae Morris and Kash Wilson all of Banner.

A family memorial honoring the memory of John will be held a later date.
