Johnnie Delane Ivy passed away Saturday, April 30 at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford, MS.
Born April 24, 1934, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, he was the surviving twin son of John Jefferson Ivy and Lurlene Bray Ivy. He married Betty June Bennett on August 25, 1951 and the couple spent their lives together in Calhoun County.

In his younger years, Delane enjoyed water skiing and camping at Sardis Lake with his family and was an avid hunter. He especially enjoyed quail hunts with his favorite bird dog White Eye. He was a 50 year member of the Antioch Masonic Lodge in Bruce, achieving his Master Mason degree at age 36. He retired from Columbia Gulf Transmission in 1989 after many years of employment. He also raised cattle, invested in real estate, and worked many years and made many friends in the auction and antique business.

Mr. Ivy was preceded in death by his parents and wife and leaves to mourn his passing his son Jimmy Mac Ivy (Nancy) and daughter Ann King (Michael), 3 grandchildren Jennifer Ivy, John Ivy, Brett (Melissa) King, and 3 great-grandchildren who brought much joy to his life, Hardy McCormick, Eli Goolsby, & Isabel King.

Visitation with family will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday, May 1 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. Services will be at the funeral home chapel at 11 am Monday with Bro. Darrell Logan officiating, May 2 with burial in Bruce Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Dean Brumett, Jimmy Collins, John Ellard, Ramey Gill, Paul Lowe, and Michael Skyles.

Those wishing to make memorial donations are asked to do so to the Salvation Army.
