Johnny Lee Golden, 78, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at his son’s residence after an extended illness. He was born March 9, 1941 in Chickasaw County to the late parents of W.C. Golden and Odene Bevill Golden. He was a member of Splinter Back Church. He was a retired employee of Weyerhaeuser Company as a quad saw operator. He loved his horses, wagons and especially John Deere Tractors and joy riding in his Dodge truck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and the love of his life his wife, Betty Guthrie Golden.
Those left to honor his life and memory are his daughter, Connie (James) Moore, Bruce; son, Randy (Mary Lou) Golden, Pontotoc; brother, James Golden, Houston; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the funeral home in Bruce from 5:00P.M. to 8:00P.M.. A funeral honoring his memory will be Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:00A.M. with Bro. Harvey Galloway officiating. Burial will be in Collums Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Willie Bevill, Brandon Golden, Timmy King, Chris Moore, Reggie Moore and Shane O’Bannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Howell, Austin King, Jaden McVay and Jai McVay.
