Joshua Jones Carwile

Joshua Jones Carwile, age 50, who departed this life on October 20, 2026. Born on August 7, 1976, in Oxford, Mississippi, Joshua was a cherished son, brother, and uncle, whose memory will be held dear by his family and friends.

A graduate of Oxford High School, Joshua pursued his higher education at the University of Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. He contributed his skills as an electrical engineer to the manufacturing industry.

Joshua was a man of faith, finding solace and strength in his favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." His spiritual journey was nurtured at the First Baptist Church of Oxford. He found comfort in the hymns "Amazing Grace" and "Hallelujah".

He is survived by his mother, Karen Westmoreland of Bruce, MS; his brother, Eddy Carwile, and sister-in-law, Chasity Carwile; and his nephew, Wes Carwile all of Oxford, MS.

A family memorial service in honor of Joshua will be held at a later date.

Joshua was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Carwile; and step father, Herman Westmoreland, who played a pivotal role in his life, guiding and influencing him throughout his journey.
