Joshua Caleb Deaton

Joshua Caleb Deaton, 43, departed from this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at his home in Columbus, MS. He was born on May 08, 1979, in Starkville, MS to Charles Stanley Deaton, Jr. and Marcia Lynne Bryant Daniel.

Josh was an electrician for Triangle Heat and Air. In his spare time, Josh could be found in the woods deer hunting or at the lake fishing. He was an avid supporter of the Mississippi State Bulldogs, especially baseball. Josh loved to cook. He attended Columbus Christian Center. Although Josh has departed from our lives, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of his friends and loved ones.

He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: two daughters: Dakota (Robert) Deaton Goynes of Walker, LA; Callie (Jevante) Deaton McAdory of French Camp, MS; mother, Marcia Deaton Daniel of Bruce, MS; stepfather, Joey Daniel of Bruce, MS; sister, Amber (Jim) Cameron of Gardner, KS; five grandchildren: Marissa Goynes, Haven Goynes, Eva Goynes, Sebastian Deaton, and Jaycee McAdory. Grandmother, Sue Bryant of Pittsboro, MS; niece and nephew, Savannah Cameron and Charlie Cameron.

Josh is preceded in death by his father, Charles Stanley Deaton, Jr.; grandparents: C.S. and Lesta Deaton; Donald Bryant.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church. The funeral service honoring Josh’s life will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Bro. Brian Thrasher officiating. Kris Bell, Andrew Bryant, Cameron Bryant, Kristian Bryant, Dillon Clark, Andy Cook, Casey Deaton, Brian Harrison, and Sam Krusee will carry Josh to rest in Antioch Cemetery.
