June Marie Murphree

June Marie Murphree, 84, entered her heavenly home to be joined with her loved ones in heaven on Friday, August 9, 2024.  She passed away peacefully at Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home after an extended illness.  She was born June 2, 1940, in Bruce to the late O. L. Kimsey and Effie Birdsong Kimsey.

June was a homemaker and a graduate of Bruce High School class of 1958.  She was a member of Mt. Comfort Baptist Church.  June was a pianist and organist for various churches and loved lifting up the Lord through her music.  She loved reading, shopping, and going to yard sales to find hidden treasures.  June was an Avon Sales representative.

She was preceded in death by her parents O. L. and Effie Birdsong Kimsey and husband Dennis Ray Murphree.

Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter Karen (Michael) Swanson, of Bruce, brother O. L. Kimsey, Jr., of Bruce, and granddaughter Katelyn Nicole Swanson, of Bruce.

Visitation for June will be Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home. A service honoring June’s life will be Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Murphree officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Randy Baker, Josh Bennett, Ronnie Bennett, J.D. Langford, Jay Prewett, and Ciro Salinas.
