Kay Wright

Paula Kay Baker Wright, 69, of Pittsboro passed from this life on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Born on August 25, 1952 in Vardaman, she was a daughter to the late Ruble Baker and Josie Chandler Baker.

Kay spent many decades in marital bliss with her late husband William Earl Wright. The couple’s union gave life to three children, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren all wrapped in an immeasurable amount of memories. She cherished her family and valued spending time with them especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Aside her from her life as a mother and grandmother, Kay could be found working outside tending to not only her yard but also her garden. With the hopes of finding a bargain or riffling through trinkets she was always to sales of all types.   Although she has gone to rest in a sacred place free from sickness, Kay will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.

She leaves behind loving close knit family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; one daughter, Paula (Tommy) Patton of Pittsboro; one son, Bryan Wright of Pittsboro; four grandchildren: Briana (Eric) Childs of Big Creek; Brennan Wright of Vardaman; Abbie Patton (Scott Shankle) of Pittsboro; Torie Patton (Moses Ruff) of Plantersville; three great grandchildren: Jett Shankle and Jedd Shankle of Pittsboro; Paxton Wright of Cedar Bluff; two sisters: Bobbie Jean Landreth of Vardaman; Glenda (Raymond) Pumphrey of Houston; two brothers: Benny (Cecille) Baker of Houston; Sammy (Ann) Baker of Falkner.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Wright; one son, Mark Wright; parents: Ruble Baker and Josie Chandler Baker; three sisters: Joann Johnson, Barbara Winter, and Patsy Baker; two brothers: Ruble Baker and Billy W. Baker.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service remembering her life will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Vincent Anderson officiating. Odelle Cobington, Eric Childs, Andy Landreth, Moses Ruff, Scott Shankle, and Stpehen Winter Sr will carry Kay to rest in Pinecrest Memorial Garden.
