Kenneth Cain, 96, of Banner passed from this life on March 24, 2022, at his home. Born on November 25, 1925, in Calhoun County, he was a son to the late Hollis Emmitt Cain and Ethel Susan Leachman Cain.
Kenneth married his loving and devoted wife Maxine Turner Cain on May 28, 1948. The couple’s marriage spanned over seventy-three years, aside from the countless memories made, this union gave life to four children, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. He spent many days working for the Weyerhaeuser Corporation before retiring and looking after his cattle farm fulltime. Aside from working at the lumber yard and working cows, Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. As a member of Sarpeta Baptist Church he believed in the life-giving salvation found in Jesus Christ. Although Kenneth has departed from our lives, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of his loved ones.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 73 years Maxine Cain of Banner; one daughter, Kay McCormick of Banner; two sons: Terry Dean (Teresa) Cain of Banner: Tony M. Cain of Banner; four sisters: Katie Goodwin of Banner, Martha Covington of Banner, Barbara Lantrip of Banner, Carolyn Hallman of Flowood; seven grandchildren: Lynn (Casey) McCormick, Craig (Lori) McCormick, Chad (Jonna) Cain, Nicole (Neal) Wright, Brooke Cain, Gency Smith, Brianne Cain; fifteen great grandchildren: Megan McCormick, Makayla McCormick, Miranda Wade, Rhett McCormick, Branson McCormick, Landon McCormick, Carson McCormick, Alissa McCormick, Marissa McCormick, Taylor Hudson, Brylee Smith, Jacie McGinnis, Callie Cain, Kobe Cain, Kobe Cain, Easton Cain, Kylie McGinnis; three great great-grandchildren: Colson Wade, Ayson McCormick, and Myles McCormick
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Emmitt Cain and Ethel Susan Leachman Cain a son; Kenneth Wayne “Bitsy” Cain; brother, Charles Cain; three sisters: Ruthell Norwood, Celestine Dye, Johnnie Weeks; one great-granddaughter, Stephanie McCormick.
The Family will receive friends on Sunday March 27, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce The funeral service honoring Kenneth's life will be held on Sunday, at 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce with Bro. Craig McCormick and Bro. Jerry Smith officiating burial will follow in Sarapeta Cemetery. Chad Cain, Easton Cain, Kobe Cain, Junior Hillhouse, Lynn McCormick and Neal Wright will be serving as pallbearers. Kenneth's Nephews will be serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
