Lakyn Burt

Miss Lakyn Danielle Burt, 18 of Bruce, MS died on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She was surrounded by her loving family as she gained her angel wings  and entered into her heavenly home.

She was born Tuesday, August 11, 1998 in Oxford, Mississippi; she was the daughter of Jody D. Burt (LaDonna) of Bruce, MS and Nicole Bennett McGreger (Sammy) of Bruce, MS.

She was a graduate of Bruce High School Class of 2016 and a member of Mt, Moriah Baptist Church. Her loving smile and determination will forever live in her classmates, family and friends.

She is survived by her sisters, Caitlyn Burt and Chloe Burt of Bruce, MS: two step sisters, Chloe McGreger of Vardaman, MS and Aubrey Lee of Bruce, MS: one step brother, Braiden Lee of Bruce, MS: her grand parents, Jeff and Linda  Bennett of Bruce, MS and Elizabeth Burt of Pittsboro, MS: her great grand parents, Charles and Frances Bennett of Bruce, MS, Bill and Dorothy Mosley of Coffeeville, MS and Peggy Burt of Bruce, MS.

She was preceded in death by her grand father, Mike Burt, and a step brother, Hunter McGreger, great grand parents, Henry D. Burt and Les and Mildred Gregory.

A funeral honoring her life will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Bro. Joey Hamilton and Dr. J.R. Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Bruce, MS. Pallbearers will be Tyler Boyette, Joshua Bryant, Dalton Huffman, Bryant King, Layton Morgan and Brandon Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be her classmates, class of 2016.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Bruce, Mississippi
