Lee Ottis Bray, 84 of Bruce, Mississippi passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Baptist Memorial N.MS. - Oxford, MS. with his wife and daughter at his bedside as he entered his heavenly home.
Lee Ottis was born Friday, February 3, 1933 in Houlka, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Aaron Chesley Bray and the
late Mattie Lou Lovelace Bray Roper. Also proceeded by brothers, A.C. Bray and Billy Joe Bray.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korea Conflict
Lee Otis attended Macedonia Baptist Church. He was former owner of Bray Dry Cleaners for 11 years and Bray Piano Co. for 13 years. He also worked for The City of Bruce for 2 yrs. in the Maintenance Dept. and was a former Engineer for WJRL Radio in Calhoun City, MS.
Surviving are his wife Mildred Shumaker Bray of Bruce, MS! whom he married on Feb. 20, 1958. One daughter, Debbie (special friend Jimmy) Adams of Grenada, MS, one Granddaughter; Christy (Jon) Powell Reed of Arlington, TN. Two Great-grandchildren; Savannah and Scarlett Reed. One sister, Bobbie Blount of Calhoun City, MS.
A Funeral service celebrating his life will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rex Wilburn and Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Interment will be in Bruce Cemetery, Bruce, MS with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Bradley Bray, Mark Bray, Tommy Bray, Mark Davis, R.M. Davis, Mike Havens, Tom Lindley and Byron Talford. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherman Adams, Jim Beckett, Jerry Bowles, Jack Chrestman, Bob Cozart, Gary Edwards, William R. Hensley, Charles Herring, Bobby Hood, Buddy McCammon, Ed Moorhead, L.T. Spearman, and Dr. Willie Wells.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476 hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
