Lenon Ray White, 87, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Calhoun City. He was born January 10,1930 in Bruce to the late Earnest Carroll White and Dora Elizabeth Winter White. He was a active member of Calhoun City First Baptist Church where he was active in the church choir and church bus ministry. Lenon was retired from Natchez Trace Electric Power Association where he had served for over thirty nine years as a lineman and branch manager. He also served his community as a volunteer fireman and the American Legion. Lenon served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Air Force Veteran. Some of his greatest interest was his music playing guitar, tinkering with anything mechanical, gardening and cheering on the MSU Bulldogs.
He is survived by his wife; Betty Doler White, Calhoun City, MS. two daughters; Melissa White Parker "Ed", Calhoun City, MS. Mindy White Leachman, Calhoun City, MS. Step-daughter; Patricia Cook, Bruce, MS. step-son; Charles Scott Alexander, Bruce, MS. Grandchildren; Travis England, Tracy King, Lenon England, Martin Ray White, Bradley White, Sara Elizabeth White, Jace Leachman, Shane Cook, Shannon Cook, Casey Cook, Chad Cook, Rory Alexander, Ryan Alexander and Andy Parker Dunn. Twenty one Great Grandchildren.
Lenon was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jimmy White, three sisters; Clara Mitchell, Dorothy Ivy, Kathleen Brasher, a brother; Charles Zeal Dee.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Calhoun City First Baptist Church from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Services will be at the church , Thursday at 3:00 PM with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Assisted by Rev. Wayne Gullett and Rev. Jimmy Vance. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Poplar Springs cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jody Doler, Dr. Jimmy G. Dobbs, Dale Hays, Danny Hodge, Danny Ivy, Gary Ivy, Hal Reese, Jr. and Joe Youngblood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adult Men's Sunday School Class, Calhoun City Volunteer Fire Department, The American Legion, Wayne Harmon, Henry Lackey, Donald Mitchell, and Gail Mitchell
