Levoid Moore, 90, of Vardaman departed from this life on Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home in Vardaman, MS. He was born on November 29, 1931 in Scottsboro, AL to the late Jack Moore and Odie Brewer Moore.
Levoid enlisted in the United States Army which led him on a journey through the Korean War faithfully serving his country. Upon returning from the war, he began working at Dixico, INC as a shop foreman. Aside from working Levoid could be found outdoors hunting, working in his yard, riding his grandchildren on his tractor, or tending to his dog and goats. Levoid was a member Temple Baptist Church. Although he has gone to rest in a sacred place free from sickness, Levoid will be profoundly missed by his loving friends.
Levoid is survived by his wife Obera Logan Moore of Vardaman; three daughters: Shelia (David) Hansen of Memphis; Debbie (Bryan) Hopper of Walls, MS; Janet Christmas of Horn Lake, MS; one sister, Judy Ellis of Heweitt, TX; four grandchildren: Tracey (Wes) Russell, Krista (Josh) Fowler, Amber (Dean) Harris, Matthew (Amy) Hopper; seven great-grandchildren: Hannah Russell, Will Russell, Phillip Hopper, Walker Hopper, Bayleigh Christmas, Abby Harris, and Carter Harris.
Levoid is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Moore and Odie Brewer Moore; two brothers: Beust Moore and Jackie Moore; four sisters: Doris Kellogg, Iva Brinkley, Wilma Laster, and Oma Dell Moore.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Vardaman. The funeral service celebrating his life will take place on Monday, June 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman with Bro. James Guest, Bro. John Haines, and Bro. Charlie Warren officiating. Josh Fowler, David Hansen, Dean Harris, Matthew Hopper, Wes Russell and Rick Stecher will carry Levoid to rest in Taylor Cemetery.
