Lillian Frances "Fran" Russell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, of Pittsboro, Mississippi, took her final rest on October 6, 2025, at the age of 90. Born to James and Beulah Kelley on April 26, 1935, in Akron, Ohio. Fran lived a life rich with love, adventure, and countless memories that she generously shared with those she cherished.

A woman of many talents and a Jack of all trades, Fran's career spanned various roles within the public, dedicating her skills to local organizations such as the Pittsboro Water Association, Mt. Comfort Water Association, Bancorpsouth, and Pontotoc Electric Power Association. Her remarkable adaptability allowed her to thrive even during her husband's service abroad in Russia, where she worked for the State Department.

As a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church, Fran inspired many with her unwavering faith. She possessed a passion for sewing and was a master gardener, captivating those around her with the beauty of her flowers and plants. Fran was renowned for her culinary expertise, particularly her delicious pies.

Her adventurous spirit took her beyond the borders of Mississippi, most memorably during her travels to the Holy Land in Israel, where she found profound meaning in her visit to the Garden Tomb. Fran also enjoyed crafting ceramics and painting, leaving behind a collection of artistic expressions that reflect her vibrant personality.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; James T. and Beulah Lowe Kelley; son, David Anthony Russell; and brother, Billy Ray Kelley. She is survived by her devoted husband, Van Howell Russell of Pittsboro, MS; her son, Larry Russell of Pittsboro, MS; her sister, Peggy Blumberg of Olive Branch, MS; and her brother, James Kelley of Memphis, TN. She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Fran's rich life during a memorial service officiated by Bro. Vincent Anderson held on October 16, 2025, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 PM. Prior to the memorial, a visitation will take place at the funeral home beginning at 3:00 PM.

In honoring her memory, we are reminded of a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and the enduring impact she had on all who knew her.
