Houston, MS – Lottie Mae Griffin, passed this earthly life to enter the heavenly gate, Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at N.M.M.C., Tupelo after an extended illness. She was born January 29, 1932 in Houston to the late parents of Henderson E. Blansett and Nora McNally Blansett Alford. She was a homemaker, a great cook, artist and painter. She enjoyed playing cards (hand and foot) with her social ladies at the church. She was a devoted member of Vardaman First Baptist Church where she assumed a leadership role in the church. She was a secretary/manager for Consolidated Packing and International Paper before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Dean Griffin, whom she married July 2, 1952. Her daughters, Gloria (Gary) Ford, McKinney, TX, Debra (Russell) Burchett, Abilene, TX; sister, Lucille Reed, Tupelo; grandchildren, Mark (Christie) Weishuhn, Cypress, TX and Caroline Weishuhn, Flushing, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Christine Langley.
Visitation will be at the Vardaman Chapel Friday, October 19, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Peeples officiating. Burial will be in Elzey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Russell Burchett, Gary Ford, Robert Harrington, Morris Langley, Jr., Loyd Roberson, Danny Suggs, Terry Walton, and Mark Weishuhn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Roberson, Tom Roberson, Chad Suggs, Michael Walton and Senior Adult Men’s S.S. Class III.
