Margaret Collins Degarmo

Orlando, FL--Margaret Collins DeGarmo, 89, passed away on November 22, 2017 in Orlando, FL.

Margaret was born in Bruce, MS on February 14, 1928 to the late Calvin and Ollie Edith Edwards.

She graduated from Bruce High School and was married for fourteen years to Jessie Wilson Collins, also from Bruce, who preceded her in death.
Margaret married Cecil DeGarmo in 1968 and they resided in Greenville, MS until 1985 when they moved to Orlando, FL.

After working for many years as a bookkeeper, Margaret entered the Hallmark card business, first in Mississippi and later in Orlando, where she was the owner of three Margaret’s Hallmark Stores which she ran until her retirement in 2007.

Margaret was also a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Orlando.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil, her parents, two sisters, and five brothers. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Collins Cater and son-in-law, Glenn Cater, of New Orleans, LA,  several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a number of close friends.

Graveside services will be held at Bruce Cemetery on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 2 P.M. with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander Officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until start of the service at Parker Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Bruce Cemetery, Bruce, MS.
