Marie Shelton Denley, 83, of Bruce, MS, went to be with the Lord with her family be her side Saturday, January 27, 2018. A life long resident of Bruce where she retired with BancorpSouth as a bank teller from 1974 to 2004. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Bruce United Methodist Church and a graduate of Bruce High School class of 1953. She was the daughter of the late Luther and the Lena Beckett Shelton, Marie was born in Bruce, MS on January 25, 1935. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Eddie P. Denley, who she married in 1953 and departed this life in 2009, also her parents, a sister, Toby Shelton Runer and four brothers, Earl, Bob, Ray and James Elmer Shelton.
Marie's smile and laugh will always be cherished by those who was blessed to be a part of her life. Those left to honor her memory are two daughters, Cathy M. Denley of Tupelo, MS and Gail Denley James( Buddy) of Bruce, MS, two grandchildren, Nikki Stamper (Casey) and Kayla Denley Tatum (Dewight) of Bruce, MS and four great grandchildren.
Arrangements are entrusted to Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 28, 2018. Funeral service will be at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 29, 2018 with Bro. Lannis May and Bro. Steve Runer officiating. Burial will be at Bruce Cemetery, Bruce, MS.
Pallbearers will be Cassidy Box, Cody Box, James Michael Denley, Casey Hollis, Richie Logan, Jeff Miller and Dwight Tatum.
In lieu of flowers: The Family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105- 1942.
