Listen to Obituary

Mark Travis Milstead, 65, of Banner passed from this life on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS in Oxford. He was born on May 7, 1956, in Water Valley, Mississippi to the late W.J Milstead and Nettie Mae Mathis Milstead.

Mark spent many seasons of his life with a wrench in one hand and socket in the other as a mechanic. With a knack for fixing broken down autos, he could always be found tinkering under the hood. Aside from his knuckling busting work he found joy in turning the crisp pages of a good book. Mark was well known for his keen sense humor and his contagious need to see others laugh. Although Mark has departed from the presence of his loved ones, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of those he touched.

He is survived by one brother James Walter Milstead; three sisters: Jo (Dennis) Nations; Cynthia Karen Green; and Lucy (Bill) Costner; one niece Rochelle Denise Green.

The graveside service remembering Mark’s life will take place on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 10:00 AM in Providence Cemetery with Bro. David Haggerty officiating.

The staff of Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they pass through this difficult season of life
