Martha Lynn Bailey

Martha Lynn Bailey, 70, of Derma departed from this life on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Bruce Community Living Center in Bruce, MS. She was born on November 13, 1951, in Houston, MS to the late Issac Raymond Bailey and Vera Dye Bailey.

Martha was a graduate of Calhoun City High School Class of 1970 without missing a day. After graduation, Martha attended Northwest Mississippi Community College. Martha spent her days as a homemaker that devoted her time to looking after the needs of her family. When she wasn’t loving on her family, Martha could be found working at York's Greenhouse until its closing or working at Bailey Farms. Martha was a member at First Baptist Church in Calhoun City where she also served as a nursery worker. Although she has departed from our presence, she has gone to rest in a place free of sickness and the pains of age.

She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; daughter, Trandance Crawford of Derma; two brothers: Lewis Bailey of Derma; Roy James Bailey of Vardaman; sister, Alma (Tommy) Gordon of Calhoun City; two grandchildren: Catherine Crawford and Vera Crawford.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Issac Raymond Bailey and Vera Dye Bailey; two sister-in-laws: Margaret Bailey and Diane Bailey.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Bailey Memorial Methodist Church. The funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Bailey Memorial with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Marshall Bailey, Perry Bailey, Glen Dye, Bailey Gordon, Jon Hardin, Rob Langston, Jerrell Mann, Lee Smith, Clint Wolfe, and Harvey Wright will carry Martha to rest in Loyd Cemetery. Sonny Bailey, Justyn Gordon, Peyton Hamblin, and Bradford James will serve as honorary pallbearers.
